Choosing an International Courier

What to look for in a worldwide parcel carrier — reputation, tracking, quotes and all-round service.

The big question

Which International Courier Should I Use?

The world is a much smaller place than it was just a few decades ago and now we think nothing of sending anything from small packages to major shipments to almost any destination in the world.

Well-defined air and shipping routes make delivery to the other side of the world as easy as delivering just up the road, however, whether you are shipping full house contents for relocation due to work or retirement in the sun, you want a door to door sea freight to Ghana, air freight to Nigeria, cheap parcel delivery to Germany, cheap parcel delivery to an European country or you are exporting goods worldwide, you will want to ensure that the courier you are using is professional, guarantees delivery on time and takes care of your freight.

Just because a courier can ship freight or send parcels around the world, doesn't mean that the operator is as adept at it as others and a little research will help enormously if you have a shipment to deliver.
Your checklist

What should you consider when working with an international courier?

Using a courier to ship parcels to international destinations can be difficult – there are a vast range of names offering this service but how do you know you will get the service you pay for? If the parcel does not arrive on time, this could mean the difference between servicing your customer and not getting paid.

If you are looking for an international carrier, you may want to consider a few points, including:

  1. 01

Do they have a good reputation?

Some of the leading names in parcel delivery, such as DHL, TNT, UPS, DPD, have an exceptional reputation and Ban-Devoted Services can offer savings of up to 70% to book with these reputable names.

  2. 02

    Do they offer tracking information?

Tracking gives you that extra information to share with your end customer – you can let them know when to expect delivery and if this should encounter difficulties, you or the client can quickly gain reassurance that the delivery is en-route.

  3. 03

    Can they provide a quote?

Try Ban-Devoted Services quick quote form with the weight and dimensions of your parcel to find out the service options available. Great for giving you the option of working out shipping rates prior to sending in order to add the cost to the customer's invoice.

  4. 04

Do they offer an all-round service?

Advice on packaging, availability of your courier, ease of contacting the company and help when you need it are all important when choosing a courier. Ban-Devoted Services are available six days a week, with a useful FAQ section and accepting online payments, it couldn't be easier to ship your goods.
